Shaykh Uthman takes the dawah from California to the jungles of Indonesia to the streets of Chicago, and everywhere he goes, Islam is reaching people who never expected to find it. In Indonesia, 200 people in a remote village accepted Islam after Christian missionaries had tried to convert them using alcohol, cigarettes, and lies. In Chicago, two young Americans — Bobby and Julius — took their shahada after discovering Islam through social media, fulfilling the prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that Islam will reach every household on earth.
200 Accept Islam in the Jungles of Indonesia
Christian missionaries had gone to a remote Indonesian village and lied about building an English school, instead constructing a church. They brought alcohol and cigarettes to bribe the population and converted many away from Islam through deception. When Shaykh Uthman and local Muslim brothers arrived, they did not bribe or deceive anyone. They simply shared the message of Islam, and within a week, the village chief took his shahada. Over 200 people followed, and even those who had never been Muslim before entered the faith. The missionaries’ bribes could not compete with the truth.
We didn’t pay them, we didn’t bribe them. We told them Islam is there to improve you. Alhamdulillah, the chief of the village took shahada, and then 200 people became Muslim. The entire village — 90% or more — all entered Islam.
Bobby’s Story: Islam Reaching Every Household
- Bobby, half-Polish and half-Mexican from Chicago, discovered Islam through social media videos and started reading the Quran on his lunch breaks at work
- His Muslim employer’s quiet devotion — praying in his office with the lights off — was the dawah that planted the first seed
- He described feeling better, more confident, and more at peace every time he read the Quran, even while the same problems persisted in his life
- He took his shahada live at the masjid, declaring it the greatest day of his life
The Prophecy Being Fulfilled in Our Time
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that Islam would reach every household where the day and night reach. With YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and social media, this prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. From cannibalistic tribes in the jungles of Indonesia to young men in the streets of Chicago, Islam is transforming lives not through bribes or deception but through the pure, simple message of worshiping the Creator alone and striving to be the best version of yourself.
Instead of wasting time watching prank videos, the youth are using social media for dawah. People come up to me everywhere saying: I saw your video, Islam makes sense. Every household is learning about Islam.
