To Peace and Paradise

In a world saturated with competing belief systems, each claiming divine authority and promising salvation, how does a sincere seeker identify the one true path? Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips — Islamic scholar, author of over 100 books including The Fundamentals of Tawheed, and founder of Islamic Online University — brings a lifetime of rigorous academic training to bear on exactly this question. Holding degrees from the Islamic University of Madinah, King Saud University, and a PhD in Islamic theology from the University of Wales, Dr. Philips does not appeal to emotion or inherited tradition; he applies a clear, rational criterion that any thoughtful person can evaluate. The conclusion he reaches — that Islam, the original act of submission to the will of the One God, is the only preserved and complete divine guidance for humanity — is not asserted but demonstrated, and its implications are urgent for every soul willing to examine the evidence with sincerity.

The Quran’s Unmatched Textual Integrity and Scientific Precision

“Muhammad could not have known these facts about human development in the 7th century because most of them were not discovered until the 20th century. God transmitted through Muhammad bits of His knowledge that we have only discovered for ourselves in recent times.” — Dr. Keith Moore, author of the globally adopted embryology textbook, upon reviewing Quranic descriptions of fetal development

  • Over 5,500 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament survive, not one of which fully agrees with another — scribes altered texts both accidentally and deliberately across centuries of copying
  • The Old Testament contains scholarly-documented contradictions, and Hindu scriptures carry no reliable chain of transmission; their origins remain historically uncertain
  • The Quran has been preserved in a single, consistent text since its revelation — continuously memorised by hundreds of thousands across every generation without interruption
  • Its descriptions of embryology, cosmology, and natural phenomena correspond precisely with modern scientific discoveries — facts that were impossible for a 7th-century human to know independently
  • The very preservation of the Quran is itself evidence of its divine origin: God protected His final message because it was sent for all people, in all places, for all time

Dr. Philips offers a decisive logical test: if a religion truly originates with God, its scripture must be verifiably intact, free from human corruption, and internally consistent with established truth. Applying this test across the world’s major scriptures, only the Quran survives — not as a matter of cultural bias, but as a historically and scientifically demonstrable reality. When the biblical text itself — across thousands of manuscripts — contains verses altered by scribes who “thought the text should say something other than it did,” the believer is left without certainty about what was actually revealed. The Quran presents the opposite situation: every word traceable, every verse memorised in an unbroken living chain from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to today. A sincere seeker need not spend years surveying every religion in exhaustive depth — they need only ask: which scripture can I hold with complete confidence? The evidence, Dr. Philips argues, points to a singular answer.

Islam: The Universal Prophetic Path That Predates the Arabs

  • Islam takes its name from its essential reality — submission to God’s will — unlike Buddhism (named after Buddha), Hinduism (named after the Indus Valley), or Christianity, a label Jesus ﷺ never used for himself or his followers
  • Every prophet from Adam to Muhammad, peace be upon them all, carried the same core message: submit to the One God — making Islam not a new religion but the oldest and most universal
  • Jesus ﷺ himself declared, “Hear O Israel, the Lord your God is one God” — the Unitarian teaching upheld by James, the brother of Jesus, who led the Jerusalem Church for seventy years and taught that Jesus was a human being and a prophet of God, not a deity
  • The doctrine of the Trinity was absent from Jesus’s original message; it entered through Paul’s movement in Antioch after the Jerusalem Church was scattered — absorbing Greek and Roman pagan concepts of demigods and divine sons into a faith that Jesus’s own family had publicly rejected
  • Arabs constitute only approximately 15% of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims; the Muslim population of India alone exceeds the total number of Arab Muslims worldwide
  • Arabic in worship functions as a universal unifier — any Muslim, from China to Nigeria to Canada, can stand in prayer with strangers and follow every word; this spiritual unity would be lost if each nation prayed in its own language

The suspicion that Islam is merely an “Arab religion” evaporates before the simplest historical examination. The word “Islam” appears in the Quran itself; the words “Christianity,” “Buddhism,” and “Hinduism” cannot be found anywhere in their own scriptures — those names were attached by later human hands, not by the prophets who delivered those traditions. Islam claims, rather, to be the religion of Adam and Eve: the command to submit, embodied in not eating from one forbidden tree, was the very first act of religious obedience God asked of humanity. From Adam to the final Prophet ﷺ, the essence never changed — only the specific laws that God tailored to each people in each age. When other religious frameworks invite only a weekend commitment — worship when convenient, adjust the teachings to personal preference — Islam demands something categorically different: a conscious, 24/7 surrender of the will to God. That is not a burden; it is precisely the total transformation that produces the peace, purpose, and spiritual clarity that every human soul is searching for, whether or not it has named what it is looking for.

The Eternal Stakes: Satanic Beautification, Sincere Repentance, and the Paradise That Awaits

“The benefits are the eternal life that we are all seeking — in a beautiful, good, and pure sense — one in a state where we are at peace with God, God pleased with us and us with Him. What better state can we be in? That is Paradise. And that reward and goal can only be achieved through submitting ourselves to the will of God, known as Islam.” — Dr. Bilal Philips

Satan’s methodology has never changed. The Quran records his own open declaration: “I will beautify corruption for them” — and this is precisely what he did in Paradise, dressing the forbidden tree as the pathway to eternal life, transforming a clear prohibition into an irresistible lure. The same script runs today through entertainment, media, and social culture: fornication, intoxicants, and moral dissolution are packaged as fulfilment and freedom, while the disciplines God prescribed are mocked as backwardness or repression. Every human soul faces the same test Adam faced: will we submit our will to the One who created us, or surrender it to desires that have been beautified to look like life itself? Dr. Philips is unsparing about the spiritual stakes — to encounter the truth, recognise it with certainty, and then walk away from it for fear of what family members or peers might say is the gravest mistake a person can make in their entire life. Yet Islam’s mercy is as evident as its clarity: no priestly class, no confession booth, no human intermediary stands between any sinner and God’s forgiveness. Whoever turns to God sincerely, regardless of the weight of their sins, finds the Most Merciful and Most Loving waiting — because forgiveness belongs only to God, and He extends it to whomsoever turns to Him with a repentant heart. The Pharaohs accumulated the wealth of entire civilisations; it sits in museums today, of no benefit to them. Michael Jackson, Bruce Lee — fame, talent, and fortune did not follow them beyond death. The testimony of every human life that history has recorded carries the same lesson: nothing gathered in this world travels past the grave. What endures, what can truly be called a person’s own, is only the quality of their submission — the sincerity with which they answered the question that has been placed before every soul since Adam first stood in the Garden: will you submit to the One who made you, and in doing so, find your way to peace and to Paradise?
