Muslim parents across North America are waking up to a disturbing reality inside their children’s classrooms. A veteran school teacher with over 25 years of experience in education and a degree in psychology has come forward to expose how state-endorsed curricula are systematically targeting Muslim children and undermining Islamic values — and every parent needs to hear what she has to say.
How School Curricula Are Specifically Targeting Muslim Youth
Brenda Lebsack, a long-time educator and former school board member in California, discovered that the state-recommended sex education curriculum directed teachers and students to a website called Advocates for Youth. What she found on that site was alarming: articles specifically aimed at Muslim youth that manipulated verses from the Quran and distorted the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to push children away from their faith and toward accepting an ideology of unlimited genders. This was not a fringe effort — it was endorsed by the California Department of Education, co-developed with Planned Parenthood, and distributed to school administrators, principals, and teachers statewide through official channels.
When they’re going after Muslim youth, they’re trying to tell them: ‘Don’t worry, you can still be a Muslim and be a different gender.’ They take sacred scripture and start interpreting it incorrectly — and that is deeply wrong.
The Scope of the Problem: What Parents Must Know
- Unlimited gender ideology is being introduced to children as young as preschool and kindergarten through books, videos, and lesson plans promoted under the banners of “inclusion” and “tolerance.”
- Official curriculum materials teach children that gender is a “spectrum” with unlimited options — directly contradicting the Islamic teaching that Allah created human beings as male and female.
- Puberty blockers and hormone therapy are being promoted to children through school-recommended videos, and teachers’ unions in California have pushed policies stating that parental consent should not be required for minors to receive these medical interventions.
- Children who simply question their identity are immediately categorized under the LGBTQ umbrella, and school counselors are trained to “affirm” without ever consulting parents or allowing the child’s natural development to take its course.
- Research shows that approximately 90% of children who experience gender confusion naturally grow out of it after puberty — yet the current system intervenes before that can happen.
Why This Is an Attack on Faith-Based Families
To put these thoughts into a young child’s mind — who is innately imaginative, innately trusting, and impressionable — is exploitation. It’s wrong. If I had been taught these things as a young child, I would have definitely thought I was a boy. These kids typically grow out of it, but the system won’t let them.
How Muslim Parents Can Protect Their Children
- Know the curriculum: Review every piece of material your child’s school uses for sex education, social-emotional learning, and “diversity” programs. Request copies and read them thoroughly.
- Strengthen Islamic identity at home: Teach your children the beauty of Islam, the wisdom of Allah’s creation of male and female, and the importance of living according to the Deen from an early age.
- Build alliances with other faith communities: This teacher’s courageous example shows that people of all faiths — Muslims, Christians, and Jews — can unite to protect children from ideological manipulation in schools.
- Get involved in school governance: Attend school board meetings, run for positions, and make your voice heard during public comment periods on curriculum decisions.
- Consult with your local Imam and community leaders: Bring awareness to your mosque and organize information sessions so that every family in your community is equipped with the facts.
Islam is clear: Allah created humanity in pairs, male and female, and the family built on the marriage of a man and a woman is the foundation of a healthy society. Our Deen is not something to be reinterpreted by advocacy groups with an agenda. As Muslim parents, our responsibility is to educate ourselves, protect our children, and hold firm to the truth that has been clear since the beginning of creation. The time to act is now — before this ideology reaches deeper into our schools and further into the hearts of our youth.
