Signs Of The Last Day with Dajjal (Prophecy of PROPHET MUHAMMAD in Islam)

Over fourteen centuries ago, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sat with his companions and described in extraordinary detail what the world would look like as it approached its end — satellite-like communications devices severing family bonds, children overtaken by rage, young men accumulating vast wealth before the age of thirty, and musical instruments carried on people’s heads wherever they walked. No philosopher, fortune-teller, or analyst of any era has ever matched this: a consistent, 100% accuracy rate across prophecies spanning centuries. For sincere seekers of truth, this alone stands as one of the most compelling proofs of prophethood, and of Islam’s divine origin — a guidance not invented by a man, but revealed by the Creator of all things.

Minor Signs of the Hour — Prophecies Already Unfolding in Real Time

Islamic scholars, drawing from authenticated Hadith, classify the signs of the Last Day into two broad categories: minor signs and major signs. The minor signs fall into three types — those that occurred once and ended (such as the sending and death of the Prophet ﷺ himself); those that are recurring but intensifying as we draw closer to the Hour (usury, adultery, and earthquakes of increasing magnitude); and those minor signs still yet to be fulfilled (such as the River Euphrates receding to reveal a mountain of gold over which nations will go to war). Most remarkable among the ongoing signs is a Hadith in which the Prophet ﷺ used the precise Arabic term later adopted for satellite communications — describing how “dishes will be communicating continuously” while people sever family ties, staying home to watch television on satellite instead of visiting neighbours. The scholars of this generation note that nearly all minor signs are now fulfilled, making this era itself a living testament to prophetic truth.

  • Satellite communications weakening family bonds — The Prophet ﷺ used language scholars identify as describing satellite dishes, forecasting they would isolate people from one another
  • Children filled with rage — A striking sign visible in rising youth aggression and social breakdown across the globe
  • Ornate mosques, hollow hearts — Architecturally grand mosques coexist with widespread spiritual emptiness among those who pray within them
  • Hypocrites in positions of authority — The Prophet ﷺ foretold that the worst of people would control marketplaces and that hypocrites would hold leadership roles
  • Young people with extraordinary wealth — The Hadith describes youths amassing vast riches — a reality personified by figures like Mark Zuckerberg becoming a multi-billionaire before age thirty
  • Musical instruments worn on heads — Once dismissed as metaphor, this prophecy is now literally visible — headphones are among the most universal sights of modern life
  • Widespread moral decay — The normalisation of adultery, interest-based finance (usury), and the dismantling of natural social structures are each named explicitly in authenticated narrations

“When you see that something was foretold 1,400 years ago and you see it happening with your own eyes now — it affirms your faith, your Iman, in a way nothing else can.”

The Ten Major Signs, Imam Mahdi, and the Unparalleled Trial of the Dajjal

The major signs of the Hour number ten, narrated in a single Hadith recorded in Sahih Muslim: the emergence of the Dajjal (Al-Masih ad-Dajjal), the descent of Prophet Isa ﷺ, the release of Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog), the rising of the sun from the West, the appearance of the Beast of the Earth, a great enveloping smoke, three massive earthquakes in the East, the West, and the Arabian Peninsula, and finally a fire from Yemen that drives humanity to its place of final gathering. Bridging the minor and major signs is the Imam Mahdi — a righteous leader from the lineage of the Prophet ﷺ, whose name will echo the Prophet’s own, who will unite the fractured Muslim world, and who will lead the believers in prayer in Jerusalem itself when Prophet Isa ﷺ descends. Crucially, the Imam Mahdi will not seek this role — he will resist it, even flee from it, before being compelled into leadership between the Black Stone and the Station of Ibrahim. This detail alone exposes every false claimant throughout history: anyone who willingly proclaims himself the Mahdi has, by that very act, disqualified himself. As for the Dajjal — whose trial will be the greatest fitna (tribulation) the world has ever witnessed — the foremost protection is knowing the Names and Attributes of Allah ﷻ, for the Dajjal will claim to be God while walking visibly among people. The Prophet ﷺ taught us clearly: no one can see Allah in this life. His defective, mismatched eyes are themselves a sign of his falsehood — if he were truly the Divine, why could he not heal his own sight? Muslims further understand that to be “Anti-Christ” is, in reality, to be anti-Islam, because the true message of Prophet Isa ﷺ was Islam itself — pure submission to one God — as he declared in Matthew 5:17: “Think not that I came to abolish the laws and the prophets, but I came to fulfil them.” Islam teaches that Prophet Isa ﷺ was never crucified but raised alive to Allah ﷻ, body and soul untouched, and will return before the Day of Judgment to kill the Dajjal, establish divine law with justice and mercy, and then live out his remaining years on Earth in righteousness.

“When the Prophet ﷺ was asked about the Day of Judgment, he did not tell them when it would arrive — he turned the question back: ‘What have you prepared for it?'”

The signs of the Last Day are not a source of dread for the believer grounded in sincere faith — they are a source of awe, clarity, and urgent spiritual purpose. Every fulfilled prophecy is a proof of prophethood; every sign we witness in our time is a reminder that this world is a passage, not a destination. The scholars are clear: when the three major signs — the Dajjal, the Beast, and the sun rising from the West — have emerged, no new declaration of faith will be accepted from those who had not yet established it. This makes the matter immediate. Islam teaches that the only preparation that truly matters is authentic Iman — faith rooted in the heart, affirmed by the tongue, and expressed through righteous action — the same pure monotheism carried by every prophet from Adam to Moses to Isa to Muhammad ﷺ, peace be upon them all. To worship the Creator alone, to submit entirely to His guidance, and to live with justice and spiritual purpose — this message was never cancelled and never superseded, and it is as urgent today as it was when the very first divine word was revealed. If these signs stir something within you, let it not be anxiety but awakening, and let that awakening carry you closer to the One who knew all of this before a single moment of it came to pass.
