Is Christianity Today as What Jesus Christ Preached?

Many sincere Christians today are beginning to ask a question that demands honest investigation: Is the Christianity practiced today truly what Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) preached? When we examine the historical record carefully, a startling picture emerges — one that reveals significant departures from the original teachings of this noble prophet of God.

The Lost Language of Jesus

Jesus (peace be upon him) spoke Aramaic, and the Gospel he received was in Aramaic. Yet the Bible as we know it today was translated through Greek and Latin — languages Jesus never spoke. The original Gospel in its pristine form is no longer available, and this raises a profound question for every truth-seeker: Was it meant to be preserved forever, or was it a message for a particular people, place, and time, to be followed by a final universal revelation?

“Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God is One God.” — Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), affirming the pure monotheism taught by every prophet before him.

From the Jerusalem Church to Modern Christianity

After Jesus departed, the head of the Jerusalem Church was James, known as the brother of Jesus, who taught pure monotheism — that God is One and Jesus was a human prophet sent by God. For nearly seventy years, this Unitarian church maintained the authentic teachings. But when Jerusalem was destroyed and its inhabitants dispersed, Paul of Tarsus seized the opportunity to reshape the message entirely, introducing concepts like the Trinity that were never part of the original teaching.

“I started finding mistakes in the Bible, and this cut away at my assumptions that the Bible was inerrant. Then I started questioning — is Jesus really divine? Is there really a Trinity?” — A Princeton seminary PhD scholar describing his honest investigation of the biblical text.

What the Evidence Points To

  • Jesus prayed to God by falling on his face — the same way Muslims pray today — demonstrating his servitude to the Creator, not equality with Him
  • The Trinity concept does not appear in the words of Jesus and was introduced after the dispersal of the original Jerusalem Church
  • The Quran, as the final preserved revelation, confirms the original message of Jesus while correcting the later distortions
  • Anyone who reads the Bible sincerely from beginning to end will find the message of God’s Oneness running throughout, despite later additions

The invitation of Islam is not to abandon Jesus — it is to honor him as the noble prophet he truly was and to follow the final, preserved message from the same God he worshiped. The Quran stands as a crystal-clear confirmation of pure monotheism, available for anyone willing to read it with an open heart and a sincere desire for truth.
