How Muslims Should Prepare for Anti-Islam Protests at Mosques

When anti-Islam protests arrive at mosque doors with hateful rhetoric and intimidation, Muslims have a powerful opportunity to respond with the beauty of their faith. Rather than reacting with anger, Islam teaches believers to return hostility with words of peace, honor guests with generosity, and share the simple, universal message of pure monotheism that resonates with every sincere heart.

Turning Hostility Into a Dawah Opportunity

The Creator, Allah, works in remarkable ways. When Muslims have not gone out to share the message of Islam, He brings people directly to the masjid doors. This is a golden opportunity to open the doors wide, organize open house events, and let visitors see for themselves that mosques are places of worship, community, and brotherhood — not what the media portrays.

“It is incumbent on all of us to love for humanity what we love for ourselves. Islam says love all mankind, and we truly care — that’s why we’re supposed to share.”

Practical Steps for Muslim Communities

  • Open the doors — Designate open house days where anyone can tour the mosque and learn about Islam’s pure monotheism, brotherhood, and the way of life practiced by Jesus, Abraham, and all the prophets (peace be upon them all)
  • Prepare food and hospitality — In Islam, honoring guests is a duty; have refreshments ready and greet everyone with a smile regardless of what they say
  • Set up informational banners and brochures — Provide literature about Islam, the Quran, the love Muslims have for Jesus and his blessed mother Mary, and the evidence supporting Islam as a way of life from the Creator
  • Choose articulate spokespeople — Have confident, well-spoken community members ready to communicate the message of Islam clearly in simple language

“All of these things are so simple and so clear and they resonate. It’s something that is their right to know. At the end, whether they accept or reject, your duty is just to share and be the best host.”

The Message That Resonates

The core message to share is beautifully simple: Islam means submission to the will of the Creator, not the creation. This is the same message that Jesus, Moses, Abraham, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all) brought to humanity. Muslims worship the same God that Mary called upon, the same God Jesus called upon when he came into this world. When delivered with love, sincerity, and good character, this message penetrates hearts and fulfills the duty every Muslim has to share the truth with all of humanity.
