Isaiah 29:12 — The Unlettered Prophet
Isaiah writes: “And the book is delivered to him who is not learned, saying read this, I pray thee, and he saith, I am not learned.” This matches precisely what happened when Angel Jibreel appeared to Muhammad in the Cave of Hira during Ramadan. The angel commanded “Read!” and the Prophet replied, “I am not learned, I cannot read.” Jesus, by contrast, was raised among rabbis and amazed scholars with his knowledge of the law from a young age. Muhammad was unlettered — exactly as Isaiah described.

Turmeda eventually traveled to the Muslim lands and embraced Islam, confirming what his teacher had recognized from the original scriptures but never had the courage to declare publicly.
