In a world where extremist groups like ISIS, Boko Haram, and others claim to represent Islam, the most powerful defense Muslims have is proper knowledge of their faith. Without authentic Islamic education, people become easy targets for manipulation by groups that twist the religion to serve their own violent agendas.
The Only True Solution
The path to combating extremism is not through more violence or political posturing. It is through returning to the authentic teachings of Islam and the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The moderate, balanced path of Islam is the antidote to every extreme.
“How do we protect ourselves from these types of movements, groups, and extremes? By having proper knowledge of Islam. This is the root. This is ultimately the only route.”
The Prophetic Example
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had the military capability to overthrow the leaders of Quraysh by force. He could have gathered warriors like Hamza and Umar and seized power through violence. But that was never his way. Islam was established through patience, wisdom, and divine guidance, not through armed militias grabbing power.
“Whoever chooses a way other than that of the Prophet (peace be upon him), they’ve gone to extremes. They’ve left the path. They’ve lost their way.”
No amount of violence, guerrilla warfare, or forced implementation will ever establish Islam the way it was meant to be. The only authentic path is the one walked by the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself, and that path was built on knowledge, mercy, patience, and complete trust in Allah.
