In a moment that speaks louder than any political commentary, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi and a Palestinian Muslim imam sit together in the Deen Show studio, holding hands and declaring their love for each other. Rabbi Weiss, whose community has spoken out against Zionism for decades, and Dr. Imam Dalili, who has lost over 30 relatives in the current assault on Gaza, prove that the supposed Muslim-Jewish hatred is a manufactured myth designed to justify an occupation.
Centuries of Coexistence the Media Hides
Rabbi Weiss testifies that Jews lived in total harmony and peace with Muslims for literally hundreds of years. When the Inquisition drove Jews from Christian Europe, it was the Muslim community that saved them, took them in, and allowed them to flourish. In Palestine before 1948, Muslim and Jewish families lived in the same courtyards, babysat each other’s children, and shared life together. The Palestinians still carry their house keys as a symbol of the homes they were driven from — homes where coexistence was the norm, not the exception.
We lived in total harmony and peace for literally hundreds of years. We were saved by the Muslim community. Muslims basically gave the Jews their lives back — they were able to exist, to flourish.
The Nakba Is Ongoing
- Rabbi Weiss calls what is happening in Gaza part of a long chain of the Nakba — the catastrophe that began in 1948 and has never stopped
- The imam has personally lost over 30 relatives in the current assault, yet he sits with a Jewish rabbi in brotherhood and love
- The propaganda that this is a religious conflict is demolished by the very existence of anti-Zionist Jews who stand with Palestinians
- Holocaust survivors and their descendants are among those speaking most forcefully against what is being done in their name
Never Again Means Never Again for Everyone
The slogan “never again” must apply to all people or it means nothing at all. This historic meeting between a rabbi and an imam, broadcast to millions, is living proof that the bond between people of faith transcends the political machinery that profits from division. As the imam says through tears: “Soon, free Palestine.” And as the rabbi affirms: “We love each other. We always have. God willing, peace will come.”
The slogan was “never again.” Now anyone who has a heart, who believes in God, this is their chance to truly mean never again — for Jews, for Muslims, for anybody. It’s happening in 4K and people are watching.
