In this episode of The Deen Show, the focus is on an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, where he was ...

TRUMP AN INCH AWAY FROM MEETING DEATH | HE SAID GOD will Protect me

When a bullet grazed former President Donald Trump’s ear by less than an inch during a Pennsylvania rally, the world witnessed a stark reminder of how fragile human life truly is. In the aftermath, Trump himself declared that it was “God Alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening.” For Muslims, this statement resonates deeply because it aligns with a foundational principle of Islam: no soul can be harmed or saved except by the will and permission of Allah, the Creator of all things. This moment is an invitation for every person, regardless of background, to reflect on mortality, divine decree (qadr), and the ultimate question of what comes after death.

The Quran on Divine Decree and the Reality of Death

“And it is not possible for one to die except by the permission of Allah at a decreed time.” — Quran, Surah Al-Imran (3:144)

This verse from the Quran came to life before millions of viewers. The obvious aim was to assassinate Trump, yet he walked away with a scratch while another attendee tragically lost his life. In Islam, this is understood through the concept of qadr — the divine decree of Allah. Every soul has an appointed time, and no bullet, no plot, and no amount of security can override what Allah has written. This is not fatalism; it is a call to place complete trust and faith in God while taking the means available to us, knowing that the outcome belongs to Him alone.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): 30 Assassination Attempts and Divine Protection

Trump’s near-death experience invites an extraordinary comparison to the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), who survived as many as 30 documented assassination attempts. When Allah revealed the verse, “O Messenger, convey everything revealed to you from your Lord… Allah will certainly protect you from the people” (Quran 5:67), the Prophet dismissed his own bodyguards entirely, declaring that God would protect him. Unlike any political leader, Prophet Muhammad trusted divine protection with absolute certainty — and history proved him right. He was never killed by his enemies. Consider what this means:

  • If he were a liar, he would never have sent away his security while people actively plotted to murder him.
  • Pagan tribes united to assassinate him in his bed, yet Allah informed him through the Angel Gabriel, and he escaped unharmed.
  • They tried poison, boulders, and armed ambushes — none succeeded against the one whom Allah had promised to protect.
  • His three successors — Abu Bakr, Umar, and Ali — were all eventually assassinated, proving the protection was uniquely divine, not coincidental.
  • Even his enemies trusted him, giving him the nickname Al-Amin (the Trustworthy) and leaving their valuables in his care.

A Wake-Up Call: What Have You Prepared for Death?

“Oh Messenger, convey everything revealed to you from your Lord. If you do not, then you have not delivered His message. Allah will certainly protect you from the people.” — Quran, Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:67)

If Trump was an inch from death, ask yourself — how far are you? Death does not send appointments. In Islam, this life is preparation for what comes next, and the path is clear: submit your will to the Creator alone, not to any created being. This is the same message brought by Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Ask Allah — the same God that Jesus fell on his face and prayed to (Matthew 26:39) — for guidance, study the Quran, and look sincerely into the life of Prophet Muhammad. The door to God’s mercy and Paradise is open right now, but none of us knows when our decreed time will arrive.
