For over 1,400 years, the Qur’an has circulated among humanity — memorized word for word by millions, recited across every continent, preserved in its original Arabic without a single letter of alteration — and yet no civilization, no council of scholars, no collective of human and supernatural effort combined has ever produced a book to rival it. That challenge was issued by God Himself within its own pages, and it stands unanswered to this day. In this episode of The Deen Show, host Eddie Raza sits down with Imam Faisal, a hafiz who has memorized the entire Qur’an, for a direct Q&A with the verbatim word of Allah — letting God’s final revelation speak for itself on the questions that define every human life: Who created you? Why are you here? And what awaits you when this world ends?
Seven Qualities That Set the Qur’an Apart from Every Other Scripture
“Allah is He who made for you the earth a resting place and the sky a canopy, and shaped you and perfected your shapes, and provided for you from the good things. That is Allah, your Lord — so blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.” — Surah Ghafir (40:64)
What distinguishes the Qur’an from every other religious or secular text is not merely its age or its eloquence, but the way its every claim holds up under the full weight of human scrutiny — scientific, historical, philosophical, and spiritual. Imam Faisal walked through seven defining characteristics that make the Qur’an unlike anything else ever written, each one a reason in itself for the sincere seeker to pick it up and read:
- Intimate — It openly challenges all of humanity and the unseen world combined to produce a single chapter like it. That challenge, first issued 1,400 years ago, has never been met by the billions of books written since.
- Incorruptible — Not one letter has been added, removed, or changed since the revelation was completed, making it the most reliably preserved scripture in human history.
- Unsurpassable — It is God’s final revelation, the seal of the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospel. No book from God will come after it — it is the completed, perfected message to all of mankind.
- Indisputable — Its accounts of history, scientific phenomena, and prophecy have consistently aligned with discovery and never been contradicted by a modern finding, while every other sacred text has required revision to keep pace with knowledge.
- Your Roadmap for Life and the Afterlife — It covers every dimension of human existence: worship, family, commerce, moral conduct, and the path to eternal salvation. No other book presents such a comprehensive and coherent system for all of life.
- God’s Gift of Guidance — Like an owner’s manual for the human soul, it answers the deepest existential questions: Who am I? Why was I created? What does my Creator want from me? It satisfies the soul, cleanses the heart, and removes doubt.
- Your Calling Card to Communicate with God — It teaches you the names and attributes of Allah, how to address Him, and how to build a direct, unmediated connection with the Source of all life and intelligence — with no intermediary required.
God’s Blueprint for Success — In This Life and the Next
The Qur’an does not simply describe God in the abstract — it gives every human being a complete and practical framework for how to live. Allah declares in Surah Adh-Dhariyat: “I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” But worship, the Qur’an makes clear, extends far beyond ritual prayer. Patience when provoked, honesty in your dealings, kindness to your parents and neighbours, staying away from intoxicants and immorality, giving charity, and guarding your character — every one of these is an act of worship that draws you closer to your Creator and builds the inner peace the human heart was designed for. The Qur’an also warns plainly that the life of this world — its wealth, its status, its fleeting pleasures — is like rain that causes crops to flourish only to wither and become rubble. You will be brought back and you will be judged. That is not a threat; it is a mercy — because it gives every moment of your life weight, dignity, and eternal purpose. And for those who believe and do righteous deeds, God promises gardens beneath which rivers flow, an eternal reward as wide as the heavens and the earth, a return beyond anything the human imagination can fully grasp.
“Indeed the believers will succeed — those who during their prayer are humbly submissive, and who turn away from ill speech, and who are observant of zakah, and who guard their chastity… those are the inheritors who will inherit Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.” — Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:1–11)
The Qur’an is not a book for another time or another people — it is God’s direct address to you, today, wherever you are. Whether you are searching for spiritual purpose in a world saturated with noise, questioning whether there is more to life than the nine-to-five grind and two weeks of annual leave, or genuinely curious about what has compelled billions of Muslims across fourteen centuries to organise their entire lives around this one Book, the answer is here. Islam’s invitation is rooted in original goodness, not original sin — the fitra, the pure human nature with which you were born, already recognises the truth when it hears it. God Almighty is the Most Loving, the Most Forgiving, and He has not left you without guidance. He created you, perfected your form, provided for you from the good things, and then sent you this Book so that you would know Him, worship Him, and return to Him. Pick it up. Read it with an open heart. Let the verbatim word of God speak to the questions only He can answer.
